Belavista-rio is a privately owned business that provides premium apartment rentals in the magical city of Rio de Janeiro.
Belavista-rio started out in 2002, hosting exchange students that traveled Rio to improve their Portuguese. After a few years of operation, we observed that tourists desired a new kind of proposition for rental accommodations: the enjoyment of a true local experience. This is when Belavista-rio decided to innovate and incorporate apartments that reflected the style and spontaneous life of the Cariocas (name given for those born in city of Rio).
Belavista-rio then launched a classy secure high-tech web site to enable clients to easily access the properties and assist them in the reservation process.
Today we serve more than 100 hand-picked apartments and residence accommodations in the trendiest neighborhoods of Rio de Janeiro, ranging from fashionable studios to luxurious penthouses.

After completing her bachelor degree in Business Administration in Candido Mendes University and Senai Cetiqt (Technological Center for the Quemistry and Textile Center) in Rio de Janeiro, Cristina Flynn transferred her studies to New York, at the Fashion Institute of Technology where she graduated on Fashion Marketing. She decided to “make it happen” in New York and faced the competitive fashion world. She started at Promostyl, a fashion forescasting company, Frederick Atkins, a buying office, Sully Bonnelly, a high end fashion designer, and at last a Color Manager Director of Capital Mercury Apparel, a manufacturing company. She also assisted Oscar de la Renta in the ready to wear business in NY as his assitant.
After fifteen years of NY. Cristina and her brother Andre, bought their 1st apartment in December 2002 (at Flamengo, Rio), where they renovated for 1 year with the objective of renting it out to students, tourists or business travelers. She had many experiences hosting students and lodging them while she attended the British and American School of Rio de Janeiro for 12 years.
After many requests during the year of 2004 and 2005, they decided to add to their website apartments, houses and residence flats that where from friends and family. Cristina's full time job is to rent apartments and homes in Rio de Janeiro.
Maria Cristina is responsible for all the reservation and bookings and client liaison. Cristina's favorite hobby is sailing with her husband at the Guanabara Bay, or bicycle riding across the board walk. They manage now to split their lives between California and Rio where her husband has family and a Construction & Renovation business in Napa Valley. Mother of two children, Maria Luiza and William Roman, Maria Cristina is married to William L. Flynn.
Economist graduated by the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, Andre started his professional life working with telecommunications. After the deregulation of the
telecom market in Brazil, Andre moved to São Paulo where he worked as Business
Development Manager with COMSAT Lockheed-Martin,and Ericsson. With his sister and partner Maria Cristina, he decided to explore adjacent business opportunities in the booming tourism field in Brazil.
With Belavista Apartments, he takes care of portfolio increase, partnering strategies,
research of new tools, and virtual marketing. He is 34 years and lives in Rio de
Janeiro now. He also studied at the American School of Rio de Janeiro for 13 years.
