Rio de Janeiro had a great 2011 New Years Day. Everybody to whom I have been talking to, and also the press had been calling the “Decade of the Changes”, still within the spirit of the Peace Keeping efforts and disarmament of the old drug gangsters and cartels.
2011 had a monumental party at several beaches, including worldwide famous Copacabana Beach, Flamengo Beach, Ramos, and the several other spots that received more than 700 thousand tourists. At Copacabana beach alone, there were approximately 2 million people, all dressed in white, according to our tradition.
At the Flamengo Beach, where from where I shot the images below, there were 200 thousand people, who watched 25 minutes of Fireworks and samba shows from Sao Clemente samba school From Flamengo Beach, fireworks from Niteroi could also be seen, from the other side of the bay. I hope you enjoy the video!
At the beginning of the Video, you will see the 2016 Olympic Games Logo, which was released at the Copacabana Party.
Happy new Years!
