As a professional dancer, she used to spend most of her carnival holidays at Bahia, but said she used to watch by TV the Rio-de-Janeiro carnival parades. In 2009, Scheila Carvalho caused great sensation as the official carnival drum queen for Unidos de Vila Maria a prestigious samba school from São Paulo founded in 1957.
