2009 Carnival in Rio is in full fever. Many tourists from all over the world on board, street parties with lots of fun and an excellent parade made by the "Access Group" Samba Schools in the Sambadrome. Even though I am on vacations, I dedided to write a small post about carnival artists to watch for the Rio 2009 carnival. One of them, I think will be Dani Sperle....

Dani Sperle is a Brazilian 30 years old actress, recently invited to work for the TV show "Calderão do Huck", featured at Globo Network TV. Danielle Sperle will parade in the traditional Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel Samba School from Rio de Janeiro. Dani Sperle will be seen in the third sector of Mocidade´s parade, as a high-light, a distinguished post in a Samba School. (Mocidade Independente´s Carnival Theme for 2009 will be a tribute to famous Brazilian authors: Machado de Assis a Guimarães Rosa, and will parade on Sunday, February 22nd, 2009. )



Carnival artistand producer Kiko Alves, known world-wide for discovering several artisits designed her luxurious carnival costume for the Mocidade parade. He told us: "Dani´s costume was the most difficult one I ever made in my life. It costed about US$ 50.000,00." Tough job indeed, but well deserved.


Danielle Sperle will have an extra energy two samba dance in two other parades. The artist will parade Saturday, for the Paraíso do Tuiuti Samba School, from the "Access Group" in Rio, and also for the smaller Arrastão de Cascadura samba school, as a formal Drum Queen.

Good luck Dani in your 2009 Carnival! We wish all the best, and shows us your best samba! After carnival is over, lets see if I was right in my bet. The Brazilian press and media will surely announce the new carnival muses!
